In June of 2019, Lambeth residents asked us to build raised beds in a pocket of woodland garden which they were re-opening after 22 years of neglect.

The launch event coincided with the National Park City Festival, a week of city-wide, free events to celebrate the designation of London as a National Park City.

The event was enlivened thanks to some fantastic performances and dressing up by Edinburgh-bound vocalists Polly Clamorous and their hilarious cabaret Herstory, the Dandy Animals Tea Party and the siren sounds of Vauxhall Voices.

Since building the raised beds, we have been hosting regular sessions there as part of our Edible Living program for Lambeth Council, growing food with residents.
