We were approached by Transport for London to improve a problematic area outside Rayners Lane station.
The windy corner was attracting anti-social behaviour and litter. We were asked to create a beautiful and robust garden which would design out the potential for crime and make the area more appealing to commuters & residents.
The sloping ground obliged us to design a custom steel raised bed from Everedge, which we filled with a blend of compost and topsoil from Provender Nurseries, and backed it with trellis from Jacksons Fencing.
The plants are tough, evergreen specimens from our reliable supplier The Palm Centre, and include clump-forming Fargesia bamboo, Fatsia ‘Spiders Web’, Heuchera and Photinia. Volunteers from a local allotment group came to help us with the planting.
The client and local residents were delighted with the result, as you can see in the video above.
