The purpose of the project is to make gardening more accessible to local people, educating, informing and sharing food growing knowledge in the community. We do this by showcasing how it is possible to grow edible and ornamental plants in an urban environment and how much beauty it adds to the space.
Join us at Pop Farm an urban garden sitting in central Brixton. Starting at 10am we will be gardening on site, tending to our edible and ornamental sections of the site.
We have all kinds of interesting plants growing including African Blue Basil, Black Krim Tomatos, Palm trees, Amalanchier and Lomquats.
Maintaining this green oasis involves a range of tasks, suitable for all levels offering a unique chance to learn new skills and knowledge in:
– Caring for edible plants from planting out and harvesting to learning how to manage pests using organic methods
– Caring for ornamental plants including pruning, tying in and taking cuttings
All welcome! Join us on Thursday mornings (10am – 11:30am)
