On the corner at one of London’s busiest junctions sits The Brixton Orchard. This little green oasis breathes fresh air into the space reducing air pollution, increasing biodiversity, and a haven for urban wildlife.
This rare green space in the heart of Brixton is kept alive by an army of volunteers!
Connect, Learn, and Grow by becoming a volunteer with us.
- Get your hands dirty by planting for pollinators, mulching paths, and weeding
- Learn how to care for fruit trees (and eat their yummy fruit!)
- Grow traditional hedgerow plants
- Meet new like-minded people
- Be part of a green community
Take a proper lunch break and join us every Thursday between 1pm – 2.30pm. All welcome!
The Brixton Orchard is an accessible site with a hard footpath. There is some uneven ground.
Families are very welcome, children must be supervised at all times.
Keeping everyone safe is our top priority and we therefore ask all volunteers to agree to abide by our Community Volunteer Guidelines before coming onto site.
Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and bring a drink. Please note that the sharing of food and drinks is not allowed during the pandemic and that there are no toilet facilities on site.
We will supply all tools required, but please bring your own gloves and face mask.
We love all weathers! However, if rain is consistent we will call off that particular session and notify signups by email.
If you are having trouble booking, would like to discuss bringing a group, or for any other information please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our website: https://urbangrowth.london/
We can’t wait to see you in the Orchard!
