Thursday was an exciting day on site as we took delivery of our ornamental plants, in preparation for two huge days of planting. Friday was our corporate and school volunteer day. We were joined by a team of 9 immigration lawyers from Fragomen, and 19 pupils from two local primary schools.
We’ve shifted some huge boulders left behind from the bunker that used to be on site, and started planting the edible hedgerow, as well as sinking in 11 trees with their tree guards.
We really want to thank Neil and our friends at St Mathew’s Church, who have been absolutely fantastic giving us storage space and use of their facilities; and they have been the very model of Christian patience living with our muddy boots and wet clothes.
So much happened on Thursday and Friday, but there’s 24 more trees to plant, and we’ve got to get back out there! We hope to see you there today for our final day of planting. There’s the chance to learn about natural wood working as well as tree planting. There are signs to paint and decorate, shrubs to plant & lots of wood chip to shovel – so activities for every ambition!
