Calling All Brixton Communities: Join a Free Bespoke Workshop This Autumn

In the heart of bustling Brixton lies an oasis of tranquillity - the Brixton Orchard. This urban high quality green space, brought to life by Urban Growth with the support of the Brixton Bid, has become a haven for fostering community involvement and connecting individuals with the wonders of nature. This autumn, thanks to our partnership with Zipcar UK, we are inviting up to six groups to sign up for complimentary bespoke workshops.

We share a collective vision, between Urban Growth and Zipcar, to create positive change in the community. Recognising the vital role of nature (especially in urban environments) in fostering well-being and its power to uplift spirits, we aim to promote nature connection, inspire creativity, build a sense of togetherness, as well as raise awareness about our environmental impact.

Why Should You Participate?

In today's fast-paced urban lifestyle, people often find themselves disconnected from nature, leading to increased stress levels and reduced overall well-being. By immersing participants in gardening, arts and crafts, and meaningful nature activities, we encourage a deeper appreciation for the natural world and its therapeutic effects.

We are keen to embrace a diverse and inclusive community, to ensure the Brixton Orchard is accessible to all. We welcome communities and organisations from different backgrounds, age groups and interests. The workshops are open to any group with a passion for nature, a desire to learn and a willingness to contribute within a caring and nurturing environment.

What Can You Expect From The Workshop?

At the Brixton Orchard, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural world, benefiting from its calming effects.

By engaging in workshops tailored to your interests, you will gain valuable insights and skills related to gardening, arts and crafts, or mindfulness-focused nature activities. Additionally, your participation will help us to create valuable learning resources for other groups to enjoy.

How Can You Apply?

Fill in this form by the 4 September, and we will get in touch with you. Spaces are limited though so don't wait too long; the sooner we hear from you, the quicker you can bring your team to the Brixton Orchard.
